Once you got your domain and Hosting and purchased a Theme you can login to your GoDaddy Account and Click on'Domains' > 'My Domains' find your domain then Click on the Nameservers icon and change the Nameservers to the one you got from hostgator(check your email).

Once you have done this goto http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel and login scroll to the bottom until you find Fantastico and click it(NOTE: The services such as Cpanel and Fantastico is avaliable on Hostgator , I am not sure if other hosting services have this but Hostgator does. Then once you have opened fantastico , on the sidebar to the left you will see Wordpress (I recommend you use Wordpress , they are free and easy to use) Click it and then > New Installation and then complete the form. You are now done installing your blog.

You now have a blog ready to design and add content. To access your blog settings and tools as well as to write posts goto your Wordpress Dashboard- http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php Login and now you can add your Theme under appearance and go wild exploring Wordpress and Writing content.
