Branson was a High school dropout after he discovered he was Dyslexic with poor Academic results. He was once told by his teacher that he would either go to prison or become a millionaire. Branson did in fact go to prison , but only for a night and surpassed the millionaire rank. According to the Forbes 2009 List of Billionaires ,  He ranks in at the 261st richest person in the world. One of Branson’s Favorite Ventures , Virgin Atlantic Airways founded in 1984 became profitable in its first year in operation and has netted over $60 million in the past year. In his latest Venture Virgin Galactic , he plans to make trips to space at around $200 000 a person by 2011.

He Currently resides in his own island. Necker Island is located in the British Virgin islands in the Caribbean. Branson bought the 72 acre island in 1979 .He offered the owner of Necker Island £200,000, even though there was a £3,000,000 price tag on it. He was rejected but because of the owners financial difficulty he paid a mere £180,000.It has a maximum capacity of around 30 guests at a time. Facilities on the island include Sparkling pools, a gyms, tennis courts, conference rooms, bars, speed boats, and even a library. You can go there yourself if you are willing to pay the $47 000 a night that is.

Branson is not only about making money but also giving away , He has created Virgin Healthcare Foundation and also pledged to donate over a staggering $3 Billion from profits made from his Airline and Train groups to Clean Energy alternatives over the next 10 years.
